About Myself

Ronald Kauffman Jr, or as his friends call him, RJ, grew up thinking he would be a professional racecar driver, with hopes of reaching NASCAR. After watching race after race and diversifying his racing series he realized a dream that would give him the chance to cover everything, Television Production. Thankfully his high school had a TV Studies class and that got the ball rolling. Videography, sound design, video editing, 2D graphics generation, and even live studio production got the wheels spinning on a career in the universe of video production. High school in rural Connecticut, turned into college in even more rural Vermont, and a Bachelor in Arts Degree in Electronic Journalism Arts. Lyndon State College, now called Vermont State University - Lyndon, helped really develop the building blocks for not only multimedia journalism, but for his passion in video production overall. While interning after his junior year at WTNH, he was lucky enough to actually get a job and work professionally as a video editor until he had to return to Vermont for his senior year. During his senior year, several months before graduation, RJ got a job at a local Vermont station juggling 5 days of live college news production with 2 days of actual professional news production. Truly living in the world of multimedia news production. A couple months into Vermont led to a call to return home and work for WTNH again, a phone call that to this day RJ is thankful his picked up. Coming up on 10 full years at WTNH as a video editor and videographer has allowed "Ron" (there were too many RJ's at WTNH already) to really work and develop his craft in video production and local news gathering. From the storyboard to the "story told" and everything in between RJ has been able to do it all, always with an emphasis on covering motorsports and the worlds of racing whenever he gets the chance. If there is one thing that RJ has learned in, everyone and every thing has a story, and he has been truly blessed to bring those stories together behind the lens of a camera.
